HYROX race preparation and performance coaching in Northeast Florida

Official HYROX Training Center In St Augustine

HYROX At KTLYST | Build The Engine. Earn The Result.

HYROX demands more than being strong. More than being fit. More than being good at eight workout stations.

It requires the strength to move load efficiently, the engine to sustain performance across eight kilometers of running, the durability to maintain movement quality under fatigue, and the skill to put it all together when it matters.

That's what we train at KTLYST.

Rather than repeatedly hammering sleds, wall balls and burpees, KTLYST breaks those demands into the qualities required to perform them better.

Strength → Capacity → Efficiency → Durability → Performance

Our HYROX Performance Training combines the performance principles of our Athlete Lab, the strength and conditioning foundation of our Adult Functional Strength & Fitness program, and HYROX-specific coaching to prepare athletes for race day.

Whether you're preparing for your first HYROX or your tenth, racing Singles or Doubles, Open or Pro, we'll meet you where you are and help build the athlete you need to become.

HYROX performance training at KTLYST in St. Augustine Florida

HYROX combines 8 x 1-kilometer runs with 8 functional workout stations in a standardized race format.

But the athletes standing on the starting line are anything but standardized.

Some are preparing for their first fitness competition. Some are experienced endurance athletes who need more strength. Others come from strength or functional fitness backgrounds and need to build their running capacity. Some are racing Doubles with a partner. Others are chasing a Singles PR or stepping up from Open to Pro.

That's why we don't believe HYROX preparation should be one-size-fits-all.

FIRST-TIMER → OPEN → DOUBLES → SINGLES → PRO

Different starting points. Different strengths and weaknesses. Different goals.

One objective: arrive on race day prepared to perform.

Why Train For HYROX At KTLYST?

THIS IS WHAT KTLYST WAS BUILT TO DO.

HYROX sits at the intersection of strength, endurance, athleticism and competition.

So do we.

KTLYST isn't a traditional group fitness gym that added a few pieces of HYROX equipment.

Athlete development is already at the center of what we do.

Our coaches develop athletes across sports and levels—from youth development through high school, collegiate and professional athletes—inside the KTLYST Athlete Lab.

On the other side of our facility, our Adult Functional Strength & Fitness program helps everyday adults become stronger, fitter, more capable and more resilient.

HYROX brings those worlds together.

Athlete development + adult strength & fitness + endurance + competition.

That makes KTLYST uniquely positioned to develop the modern hybrid athlete.

Our approximately 10,000-square-foot performance facility is divided into roughly 5,000 square feet dedicated to adult training and 5,000 square feet dedicated to athlete development, giving our coaches the space and equipment to develop strength, speed, conditioning, movement and race-specific performance under one roof.

Sleds. SkiErgs. Rowers. Wall balls. Sandbags. Turf. Racks. Free weights. Conditioning equipment. Performance testing.

But equipment isn't the differentiator.

Coaching is.

Our goal isn't simply to give you a hard workout.

It's to understand what limits your performance and coach you toward improving it.

The KTLYST Approach

HYROX sled push performance training at KTLYST St. Augustine

DON'T JUST PRACTICE THE RACE. BUILD THE ATHLETE WHO RACES IT.

It's easy to make HYROX training hard.

Run. Push a sled. Do burpees. Pull a sled. Do lunges. Repeat until exhausted.

But hard isn't the same thing as purposeful.

At KTLYST, we approach HYROX the same way we approach developing athletes in any sport: identify the demands of competition, develop the physical qualities required to meet those demands, build skill and efficiency, and progressively introduce greater specificity as competition approaches.

That means we don't only train the eight stations.

We build the qualities behind them.

STRENGTH

Build the force-producing capacity required to push and pull heavy sleds, carry efficiently, lunge repeatedly, and maintain output throughout the race.

ENGINE

Develop the aerobic and anaerobic capacity necessary to run efficiently, recover while moving, manage repeated efforts, and sustain performance for the entire race.

EFFICIENCY

Improve technique so every meter, repetition and transition costs less energy.

DURABILITY

Build the tissue capacity, movement quality and fatigue resistance necessary to tolerate running, loading and repeated competition preparation.

SKILL

Practice the actual demands of HYROX—stations, transitions, pacing, compromised running and race execution.

PERFORMANCE

Bring those qualities together when specificity is highest and race day approaches.

A better sled push isn't built by endlessly pushing a sled.

It can mean developing greater lower-body strength, horizontal force production, trunk stiffness, positional strength, local muscular endurance and better mechanics—then teaching the athlete to express those qualities efficiently on the sled while fatigued.

We apply that same philosophy across running, SkiErg, rowing, burpee broad jumps, farmers carries, sandbag lunges and wall balls.

Build the quality. Develop the skill. Apply it to the race.

BUILD YEAR-ROUND. PEAK ON RACE DAY.

HYROX sled pull training in St. Augustine Florida

HYROX is individual competition surrounded by community.

We want KTLYST to be a home for that community in St. Augustine, St. Johns County, Jacksonville and across Northeast Florida.

You'll train alongside first-time racers, Doubles teams, experienced competitors, KTLYST-sponsored HYROX athletes and people who simply love hybrid training.

Our sponsored athletes bring their own race experiences into the gym—the successes, mistakes, strategies and lessons that can only come from competing.

And our community extends beyond the walls of KTLYST.

Performance Science + Rehab

Performance Science + Rehab

Hybrid athlete strength and endurance training at KTLYST St. Augustine. Rehab, performance therapy

HYROX performance doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Running mechanics matter. Movement quality matters. Strength asymmetries matter. Previous injuries matter. Training volume matters. Recovery matters.

That's why having Performance Science + Rehab located inside KTLYST creates another level of support for our athletes.

Athletes who need additional help can access performance coaching, rehabilitation and physical therapy without disconnecting those services from the environment where they train.

That includes access to endurance expertise from Libby Bergman, bringing an endurance-focused perspective to the development of hybrid athletes.

Your Next Race Starts At KTLYST!

Your first HYROX doesn't require the same preparation as a Pro race.

A Doubles athlete doesn't have the same demands as Singles.

A great runner doesn't need the same training as a great lifter.

That's the point.

We'll meet you where you are, determine what you need, and help develop the strength, engine, efficiency, durability and race-specific skill required for where you want to go.

You don't need to live in race mode year-round.

You need to build the athlete first—and peak when it matters.

BUILD THE ENGINE.

BUILD THE ATHLETE.

EARN THE FINISH.
