KTLYST and Performance Science + Rehab bring assessment, coaching, rehabilitation and return-to-play support together under one roof. Our integrated team uses objective data to understand each athlete, establish baselines and guide purposeful training.
MEASURE. UNDERSTAND. TRAIN. RETEST. PROGRESS.

The assessment process begins before an athlete becomes a member.
Our KTLYST coaching staff observes the athlete performing foundational movements without coaching. We then introduce cues and reassess how the athlete responds.
This allows us to evaluate more than the movement itself. We also begin learning about the athlete’s:
This initial screen helps us determine the most appropriate starting point, including whether the athlete is prepared for small-group training or would benefit from one-on-one coaching first.

KTLYST performance coaches conduct structured testing using VALD technology and assessments of primary movement patterns. These results help establish and update baselines for qualities such as:
Athletes are retested approximately every 12 weeks (3 Phases) during training. Coaches interpret the results alongside training history, sport demands, current workload and the athlete’s competitive calendar.
The numbers are never viewed in isolation. They help determine the direction of programming, where the athlete is within the training cycle and when specific qualities should be developed so the athlete can peak when it matters.
The initial profile is required for all new Athlete Lab Members and is included in the one-time registration fee
The PS+R Biometric Performance Profile is the most comprehensive level of assessment within the system. It is completed by Performance Science + Rehab and combines professional expertise, sports-science technology and individualized interpretation.
The first profile establishes a detailed starting point and provides actionable recommendations that can influence:
If another Level 3 profile is needed later because of an injury, rehabilitation process, return-to-play protocol or another specific concern, it can be completed directly through PS+R for $175.
Every athlete has a unique training history, injury history, body structure, movement strategy and competitive schedule. Two athletes can complete the same movement while producing force, absorbing force and controlling their bodies in very different ways.
Understanding those differences gives our team a head start.
Instead of spending the first several weeks guessing, we can establish where the athlete is now and begin programming around what they actually need. Initial testing also creates objective baselines that can be revisited as the athlete develops, progresses through a season or returns from an injury.
Testing does not predict or prevent every injury. It gives qualified professionals better information with which to make training, rehabilitation and return-to-play decisions.
That distinction matters. The American Academy of Pediatrics reports that approximately half of sports-medicine injuries in children and teenagers are related to overuse. Prior injury, rapid growth, repetitive workloads and inadequate recovery can further affect risk. At the collegiate level, the NCAA maintains an extensive Injury Surveillance Program to identify injury trends and improve student-athlete health and safety.
Our goal is not to make athletes afraid of training. It is to help them train with greater purpose, appropriate progression and a clearer understanding of what their bodies require.
Information only matters when it changes what happens next.
Following the PS+R Performance Profile, the findings are translated into clear training priorities and shared with the appropriate members of the athlete’s performance team. KTLYST coaches then use those priorities to guide programming inside the facility and through the BridgeAthletic app.
BridgeAthletic helps connect the different parts of the process by allowing our coaches to:
This creates a continuing cycle:
ASSESS → INTERPRET → PROGRAM → COACH → RETEST → ADJUST
The performance profile is not completed and forgotten. It becomes part of an evolving athlete record that grows alongside the athlete.
Technology can measure. It cannot coach, interpret context, build trust or understand the complete athlete.
That requires people.

Through his partnership with Performance Science + Rehab, Trent serves as an ongoing performance and tendon-health consultant within the KTLYST ecosystem. Founder of The Tendon Lab and former NBA Vice President of Player Health & Performance, Trent brings extensive expertise in tendon adaptation, workload management, rehabilitation and return to performance. His perspective helps our team connect long-term tissue health with the demands of strength training and competitive sport.
When an injury occurs, athletes and families often find themselves moving between separate providers who may have limited communication with one another.
At KTLYST and PS+R, physical therapy, rehabilitation and performance training exist within the same environment.
The PS+R team guides the medical and rehabilitation process, establishes appropriate milestones and determines when the athlete is ready to progress. KTLYST coaches then help bridge the space between completing rehabilitation and being fully prepared for the speed, strength, power, fatigue and competitive demands of sport.
Pre-injury baselines can provide valuable context. Retesting can help determine how the recovering athlete compares with their previous abilities, where meaningful deficits remain and which qualities require further development.
Return to play is not simply the absence of pain. It is the process of rebuilding the physical qualities, confidence and sport readiness required to perform again.
REHAB → REBUILD → RETEST → RETURN

KTLYST coaches turn assessment findings into daily action.
They coach the athlete, manage progressions, adjust training around the competitive calendar and conduct scheduled retesting to determine whether the program is producing the intended adaptations.
The strength of the system is not any single assessment or professional. It is the communication and continuity between everyone involved.
Our technology is selected and used when it can answer a meaningful question.
ForceDecks help evaluate how athletes produce and absorb force during jumping, landing and other performance tasks. They can provide information about jump strategy, braking ability, reactive qualities, stabilization and left-to-right differences. We can view this as a Global view of how the body is performing.
ForceFrame allows our team to assess joint-specific strength and compare force production between sides of the body. This can support performance profiling, targeted strength development, rehabilitation and return-to-play decision-making. ForceFrame allows for added specificity when appropriete to zoom in on performance qualities in specific joints and muscle groups.
OVR Velocity measures bar speed, range of motion and power during strength exercises. When appropriate, it helps coaches prescribe training based on what an athlete can express that day and monitor changes in strength and power over time.
Jump mats and force-based testing provide objective measures of explosive ability, reactive strength and lower-body performance.
Rapsodo provides advanced hitting and pitching information for baseball athletes. It helps connect physical development with measurable ball-flight, pitching and hitting outcomes.
Blast Motion sensors provide swing data that can help coaches evaluate movement patterns, bat speed and swing performance.
These tools do not replace coaching. They help our staff ask better questions, identify meaningful trends and make more informed decisions.
The technology provides information. Our team determines what it means.
Great development rarely comes from one assessment, one exercise or one breakthrough session.
It comes from small things done well and repeated consistently over time.
A more appropriate warmup. A targeted strength exercise. Better force absorption. Improved movement awareness. Training adjusted to the season. A baseline revisited at the right time. Coaches and clinicians communicating instead of working separately.
Each decision may appear small. Together, they create meaningful long-term change.
That is the purpose of the KTLYST and Performance Science + Rehab ecosystem: to give athletes access to the integrated coaching, sports science, rehabilitation and performance support typically associated with professional sport—right here in St. Augustine.
