Olympic Weightlifting In St. Augustine

We Don't Just Teach The Lift, We Build The Athlete That Can Perform It

POSITION → STRENGTH → SPEED → POWER → PERFORMANCE

Every athlete starts somewhere different.

Mobility. Positioning. Strength. Coordination. Timing. Bar control. Confidence.

Instead of rushing athletes toward a finished clean or snatch, our coaches break complex movements into teachable pieces and builds them back together as the athlete develops.

Master the position. Build the strength. Add speed. Express power.

Building Power From The Ground Up.

Olympic lifting isn't just about moving a barbell. It's about learning to produce force, move with speed, and develop explosive strength that carries over to sport.

At KTLYST, athletes learn the Olympic lifts piece by piece, position by position, with individualized coaching built around their ability, experience and sport.

POWER IS BUILT. NOT GIVEN.

Starting Position

Starting Position

Build the posture, balance, mobility, and connection to the floor that everything else depends on. Athletes learn to create tension and find strong, repeatable positions before adding speed or load.

First Pull

Starting Position

Learn to create force against the floor while maintaining position as the bar begins to move. We build control through the first pull so athletes stay balanced and prepared for what comes next.

Power Position

Develop the positions that allow athletes to turn strength into explosive movement. Athletes learn to stay connected to the bar, maintain balance, and prepare to produce force quickly.

Extension

Learn to express force rapidly through the entire body with speed, timing, and intent. We develop explosive extension while maintaining the positions that make that power efficient and repeatable.

Receive

Producing power is only part of the lift—athletes also have to control it. We teach athletes to move quickly into strong receiving positions, stabilize the load, and confidently own the catch.

Once the individual pieces are established, we begin connecting them into complete, fluid movements. Athletes progress toward cleans, snatches, jerks, and their variations based on their ability, experience, and individual needs.

Coached, Not Just Programmed.

Meet Coach Baylee Bishop

CSCS • USA Weightlifting Level 2 • KTLYST Performance Coach

Baylee's approach to Olympic weightlifting and athlete performance training starts with the athlete in front of her. At KTLYST in St. Augustine, she uses Olympic lifting and its progressions to help athletes develop strength, speed, power, and explosive movement that can carry over to sport.

Rather than forcing every athlete through the same progression, Baylee breaks the clean, snatch, jerk, and their variations into individual components—teaching positions, developing strength, building speed, and gradually connecting those pieces into powerful, coordinated movement.

Whether she's introducing Olympic weightlifting to a first-time lifter or helping an experienced athlete refine technique and develop greater power, the goal is the same:

Meet the athlete where they are. Build the foundation. Then earn the next progression.

BUILD POWER. USE IT EVERYWHERE.

Power Doesn't Belong To One Sport.

 DIFFERENT SPORTS. SAME FOUNDATION.

Run faster. Jump higher. Hit harder. Throw farther. Move more explosively.

From baseball and volleyball to basketball, football, soccer, lacrosse and beyond, St. Augustine athletes come to KTLYST with different goals, different abilities and different starting points. How we develop strength and power—and how those qualities are applied—depends on the individual athlete.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE AN OLYMPIC LIFTER, YOU JUST HAVE TO BE READY TO LEARN.

STRENGTH IS THE FOUNDATION. POWER IS HOW FAST YOU CAN USE IT.

You don't need experience. You don't need to already know how to clean, snatch or jerk—and you certainly don't need to lift enormous weights.

At KTLYST, athletes are introduced to Olympic weightlifting and strength training through movements and progressions appropriate for their age, experience and ability. Our coaches build from strong positions and sound technique, adding complexity, speed and load as each athlete is ready.

Technique before load. Positions before complexity. Progress before ego.
